Even here below the arena, I could hear the noisy crowd above. The announcers were having a good time getting them pumped for the upcoming slaughter. There was sixteen of us, sitting on the benches waiting to be led into the arena. Sturdy iron bars separated us from the entrance area, along with eight heavily armoured guards in our direct sight. Once upon a time, there was a young boy. His parents weren’t rich, but every year, they would close the shop for one week and head into the mountains to enjoy their time off. They always went to the same tavern, in the same village, by the same lake. Where to start... I've been here in Arizona for just over 2 months now, and I'm loving it. Wide roads, big trucks, V8 engines left right and center, Mustangs on every corner... Did I ever mention I like cars? The flying is great here. Sun is almost always out, leaving little clouds and rain to ground me. Except for the Monsoon season, of course, and it is that time of the year. Makes for spectacular lightning shows though, especially at night. Sadly, I am left with limited spare time. They try to book us six days a week and weekends are irregular. When we're on the ground, we're expected to be studying, or planning our next flight, both re
